Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out the rules for using MIRA services, including the MIRA App, MIRA Portal, and our website. By using our services, you agree to comply with this policy.

This policy is designed to ensure that all users can enjoy a safe, secure, and respectful experience when using MIRA. Violations may result in suspension or termination of your account.

1. Permitted Use

You may use MIRA services for the following legitimate purposes:

  • Consumers: Searching for vehicles, contacting dealers, requesting quotes, applying for finance, and managing your vehicle-related activities
  • Dealers: Managing your vehicle inventory, responding to customer enquiries, processing leads, and using dealer tools to grow your business
  • All users: Communicating through our messaging features in a professional and lawful manner

In summary: Use MIRA for what it's designed for - connecting car buyers with trusted dealers.

2. Prohibited Activities

You must not use MIRA services for any of the following:

Illegal Activities

  • Any activity that violates applicable laws or regulations
  • Fraud, money laundering, or financing of illegal activities
  • Trading in stolen vehicles or goods
  • Identity theft or impersonation of others

Harmful Content and Behaviour

  • Harassment, bullying, or threatening behaviour towards other users
  • Posting or transmitting defamatory, obscene, or offensive content
  • Discrimination based on race, gender, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, or age
  • Sharing content that exploits minors in any way

Spam and Abuse

  • Sending unsolicited bulk messages or spam
  • Creating fake accounts or multiple accounts for deceptive purposes
  • Submitting fake reviews or misleading information
  • Abusing our AI chat features for non-intended purposes

Commercial Misuse

  • Scraping, harvesting, or collecting user data without permission
  • Reselling or redistributing MIRA services without authorisation
  • Using MIRA to promote competing services
  • Manipulating search results or gaming our recommendation systems

3. Content Standards

All content you upload, post, or transmit through MIRA must:

  • Be accurate and not misleading
  • Be your own work or content you have permission to use
  • Not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights
  • Not contain viruses, malware, or harmful code
  • Be appropriate for a professional business environment

Vehicle Listings (for Dealers)

Dealers must ensure their vehicle listings:

  • Contain accurate descriptions, prices, and specifications
  • Use genuine photographs of the actual vehicle
  • Disclose any known issues, damage, or defects
  • Comply with Consumer Rights Act 2015 and advertising standards

4. Security and System Integrity

You must not attempt to:

  • Gain unauthorised access to any part of our systems or networks
  • Bypass, disable, or interfere with security features
  • Introduce viruses, worms, trojans, or other malicious software
  • Overload, flood, or crash our systems (denial of service attacks)
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble our software
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) without written permission
  • Access another user's account without their permission

Warning: Security violations may be reported to law enforcement authorities and may result in criminal prosecution.

5. Dealer-Specific Rules

In addition to the general rules above, dealers using MIRA must:

  • Hold all required licenses and registrations to operate as a motor dealer
  • Respond to customer enquiries promptly and professionally
  • Honour prices and offers advertised on the platform
  • Maintain accurate business information and contact details
  • Comply with all applicable consumer protection laws
  • Not engage in bait-and-switch tactics or misleading advertising

6. Reporting Violations

If you encounter content or behaviour that violates this policy, please report it immediately:

All reports are investigated confidentially. We will not disclose your identity to the reported party unless required by law.

7. Enforcement

We may take the following actions in response to violations of this policy:

  • Warning: First-time or minor violations may result in a warning
  • Content removal: Violating content will be removed from the platform
  • Temporary suspension: Your account may be temporarily suspended pending investigation
  • Permanent termination: Serious or repeated violations will result in permanent account termination
  • Legal action: We may report illegal activities to law enforcement and pursue legal remedies

We reserve the right to take action at our discretion. Appeals can be submitted via our Complaints Procedure.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes:

  • We will update the "Effective date" at the top of this page
  • We may notify you via email or in-app notification
  • Continued use of MIRA after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy
